Cleaning & Caring for Your Filters

Your filters are the first line of defense for clean water — a neglected filter is the single most common cause of cloudy water, weak circulation, and sanitizer that doesn't seem to be working.

  • Rinse weekly with a garden hose (more often with heavy use). It's not necessary to drain the spa to do this.

  • Deep clean every 4–6 weeks with SpaGuard Filter Cleaner to strip out oils and embedded contaminants a hose rinse alone won't remove.

  • Clean before every drain and refill.

  • Replace annually under normal use (semi-annually for swim spas), or sooner if a filter looks worn or isn't cleaning effectively anymore — ask us if you're not sure.

To remove: locate the filter housing, unscrew, lift out. To reinstall: line back up and hand-tighten. Never force it.
